I know how often I think of what I need to start doing, like cleaning out my bedroom closet, and can easily be distracted by something that sounds really exciting just to get me away from the thought of all that work.
Then I quickly refocus and use the Feng Shui Steps I’ve learned to enjoy this process. It really can be fun…Remember life is what we make of it.
1. Our weather couldn’t me more perfect now, so open the windows and doors and bring in the effervescent of the fresh air into this space.
2. Surround yourself with colors of red, orange and bright yellows to help energize you. We all know how these colors make a room “pop”.
3. Play music that is inspiring to your taste to keep you feeling positive about what you are doing.
4. Dress comfortably with light airy clothing.
5. Start small. Take a section of the closet and start there, then move along section by section.
6. When you finish a section, take a step back and look at what you have accomplished. This is a great booster for you mind. Treat yourself to a cup of coffee or tea.
7. Give things away. Start off with 9 things at a time from each small section. The number 9 is a very lucky number in Feng Shui. Like they say, if you haven’t worn them in the past year (or I’ll give you two) get rid of it. Odds are you won’t ever use it.
8. Once you fill up a bag take it to another location out of the closet, where you will either have someone pick them up for donation or put them right in your car for your planned drop off.
9. Don’t forget keeping this area fresh and clean will bring new good energy into this space. In my home, my closet is located in the north sector which is for careers. That is a definite location none of us want to keep cluttered or there might not be any new business that this good energy will be bringing to us.
By following these few simple Feng Shui steps you will be creating the excitement in the energy process, that is so often avoided, to create a more peaceful and happy home.
